Developed for smaller diameter tenon cutting, for use with small stock. The 1/2" size is useful in many areas e.g. members within trellis or lattice work. All the sizes have a straight blade that cuts a 60 Deg. shoulder tenon (not a radiused shoulder tenon as on the larger sizes). The 5/16" cuts tenons up to 1" long, and the 1/2" and 9/16" cut tenons up to 1.3/8" long. A plug gauge is included for easy blade setting. 3/8" round shank. Patented. (For use in an electric drill, not a drill press)Precision Tenon Cutting SimplifiedMini Tenon Cutters are engineered for efficient, accurate woodworking, enabling users to create professional-grade joints with ease. Ideal for both soft and hard woods, these tools support intricate furniture making and repair work. The portable design and adjustable size make them adaptable to different project specifications, ensuring versatility in any workshop or worksite.
Durable Construction for LongevityWith cutters forged from high-grade alloy steel and replaceable HSS blades, these tools resist wear and maintain consistent performance. The ABS handle with an ergonomic, non-slip grip enhances comfort and safety during prolonged use. A rust-resistant finish further safeguards the tool, extending its lifespan even when used regularly in demanding environments.
FAQs of Mini Tenon Cutters:
Q: How do I use the Mini Tenon Cutter for woodworking projects?
A: To use the Mini Tenon Cutter, attach the hex shank to a compatible drill or hand brace, select your desired diameter using the adjustable feature, and position the tool at the end of your wood stock. Operate manually by rotating the tool steadily, allowing the replaceable HSS blade to cut a clean and precise tenon for furniture or joinery applications.
Q: What materials can the cutter handle efficiently?
A: The Mini Tenon Cutter is effective on a variety of woods, including both soft and hard woods. Its high-grade alloy steel construction and sharp HSS blades ensure it cuts tenons and dowels precisely from most commonly used woods in furniture making.
Q: When should I replace the cutter blade?
A: Replace the HSS cutter blade when you notice a decrease in cutting efficiency, visible dullness, or difficulty achieving clean cuts. This ensures continued precision and extends the tools working life.
Q: Where can I use the Mini Tenon Cutter?
A: The compact, portable design allows the cutter to be used in workshops, job sites, or at home. Its especially valuable for tasks requiring precision wood joints in locations where electric tenon machines arent practical.
Q: What is the benefit of the size-adjustable feature?
A: The adjustable cutter diameter (6 mm to 25 mm) allows you to create tenons of varying sizes without needing multiple tools, enhancing flexibility and reducing equipment costs for different project requirements.
Q: How do I maintain the cutter for long-term use?
A: Regularly clean the cutter after use, ensure the rust-resistant coating remains intact, and replace blades when needed. Store the tool in a dry environment to prevent corrosion and handle gently to avoid damaging the precision components.
